I don't use Ubuntu but
  http://packages.ubuntu.com/feisty/interpreters/librdf-ruby
shows it ships an ancient package: 1.0.4.1 (Nov 2006).

This might be fixed in the two subsequent major releases
which have been packaged for Debian for some time.
