Maybe Ubunto doesn't store the bindings in the same hierarchy as the the ruby
lib dir? If so you could try to add the the path to the redland ruby-bindings
manually to your library search path.
Executing
~> ruby -e 'puts $:'
will give you the paths were Ruby is searching for libraries. The either move the
the ruby redland bindings in one of these directories or simply add the new
path (See http://www.whytheluckystiff.net/ruby/pickaxe/html/rubyworld.html)
for options.
