[redland-dev] First steps to compile RedLand in XP

um...but...after compiling them, Do I will have problems with the dll's generated? Which are the problems? Well, I will better post them when I come across them :D
What I don't understand is why I should download the ruby-dev package :(

Currently the Cygwin way is best for the Ruby bindings. I have tried
compiling them before but had mixed success; while I can compile them I
can't package them properly due to limitations in how Ruby gems handles
DLLs.

Yes, I believe you will need to have Ruby installed. If using Cygwin I
think you will also want the ruby-dev package.
