		   Rasqal RDF Query Library 0.9.13
		      http://librdf.org/rasqal/

Rasqal is a free software / Open Source C library that provides
querying of Resource Description Framework (RDF) including multiple
query languages syntaxes, query construction by API and execution of
queries returning results as bindings, boolean or RDF graphs/triples.

It supports the SPARQL and RDQL query languages. Rasqal is designed
to work closely with the Redland[1] RDF library and the Raptor[2] RDF
parsing and serializing library but is entirely separate from both.

Rasqal is beta quality: working but the API is being modified and
extended. It is a portable library and has been tested on multiple
POSIX systems and a variety architectures (x86, IA64, powerpc, alpha,
sparc) along with win32 and other systems. It has no known memory leaks.

The main changes in this version since the last release 2006-04-30 are:
  * Added a new rasqal_query_results_formatter class
  * The query engine now implements SPARQL GRAPH
  * Added query features system to set parameters
  * Many internal query engine changes (code reorganisation)
  * Fixed reported issues 0000080, 0000094, 0000095, 0000098,
    0000100, 0000111, 0000113, 0000118, 0000129, 0000131 and
    0000133.

For full details see the Rasqal 0.9.13 release notes at
  http://librdf.org/rasqal/RELEASE.html#rel0_9_13

Rasqal 0.9.13 requires Raptor 1.4.9[2] or newer (1.4.13 recommended)
to provide RDF, web, XML and URI support. Rasqal can use either
Raptor or Redland 1.0.4[1] or newer to provide a source of triples.
An optional requirement is a POSIX regular expression library such as
PCRE or one built into the C library to handle regex matching.

Rasqal 0.9.13 was tested as working out-of-the-box (configure; make;
make check) against an installed Raptor 1.4.13 with the following
systems:

    alphaev67-unknown-linux-gnu - Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 on Alpha
    i386-pc-solaris2.9          - Sun Solaris 9 (SunOS 5.9) on x86
    i386-unknown-netbsdelf2.0.2 - NetBSD 2.0.2 on x86
    i386-unknown-openbsd3.8     - OpenBSD 3.8 on x86
    powerpc-apple-darwin8.8.0   - Apple OSX 10.4.8 on powerpc
    powerpc64-unknown-linux-gnu - SuSE Linux ES 9 on powerpc64
    sparc-sun-solaris2.9        - Sun Solaris 9 (SunOS 5.9) on sparc
    x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu    - Redhat GNU/Linux Fedora Core 3 on AMD64
    i686-pc-linux-gnu           - Debian GNU/Linux unstable on x86
    i686-pc-linux-gnu           - Redhat GNU/Linux Fedora Core 5 on x86

The release consists of the full sources, source and binary RPM
packages for Fedora Core 5. Binary packages for Debian unstable
(deb) will be available via the standard debian archive shortly.

The sources and binaries are also available from the Redland
SourceForge mirror site at
  http://sourceforge.net/projects/librdf/

The http://librdf.org/ site lets you browse and check out the latest
version of the sources in Subversion and try out Rasqal (as part of
Redland) in a web demonstration at http://librdf.org/query
